Dr. Melendez is a primary care physician who specializes in internal medicine. She has a strong interest in preventing chronic disease and educating patients about the benefits of a healthy lifestyle. A graduate of Cornell University, Dr. Melendez received her medical degree from New York Medical College and completed her internal-medicine residency at Hahnemann University Hospital in Philadelphia. Beautiful sunsets and warm weather brought Dr. Melendez to Tucson. In 1998, she made Tucson home and began a practice. Communication is a central part of her care, and Dr. Melendez emphasizes the importance of listening to patients. Born and raised in Puerto Rico, she is fluent in English and Spanish. Dr. Melendez has a passion for classical music, and enjoys cycling with her husband and two children.
